With over 23 years of experience in the water utilities sector, Ed has honed his skills in operations, customer service, supplier diversity, and the diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) spaces. His career has been characterized by implementing innovative strategies that have significantly improved operational effectiveness, enhanced customer service outcomes, and increased utilization of diverse suppliers. Under his leadership, a California-regulated water utility company achieved 49% of its spending with diverse suppliers. His dedication to excellence and inclusivity, recognized through numerous awards and successful projects, validates his expertise and achievements.
Ed is the co-founder and former chief operating officer of The Diversity Advisors (a DEIBA consulting firm) and the founder and CEO of EA Simon Company, a consulting firm specializing in operational excellence and inclusion services.
EA Simon Company provides comprehensive operational excellence services, including field optimization, customer service, support functions, process optimization, and organizational optimization. The firm has expanded its offerings to include inclusion, belonging, and acceptance workforce consultative services, training, and supplier inclusion and development services.
Ed currently serves on several boards, including the San Diego Equity Business Association co-president, the Cordova and Windingwalk Homeowner Associations, and the University of San Diego Alumni Board, where he chairs their Inclusive Excellence Committee. Ed previously served as the vice president of the Los Angeles LGBTQ Chamber of Commerce board.
