Jaira Fungula currently serves as the Diversity Advocate within the Statewide Supplier Diversity Program at the California Department of General Services. In this role, she engages in comprehensive research on both new and existing state and federal statutory frameworks. Her primary focus is to provide strategic policy recommendations and develop outreach strategies that foster greater equity within the realm of state contracting.
Jaira has prior experience in both state service and the private sector, and has consistently dedicated her efforts to championing diversity, equity, and inclusion. She successfully earned her bachelor's degree in African American Studies from UCLA, a pivotal milestone that significantly influenced her decision to commit her professional endeavors to becoming an influential change agent for underrepresented minority communities.
